Terrace Gallery Show | HOME

The Belhaven Town Center in Jackson, MS has a “Tiny House” sized gallery right across from the May Day Ice Cream shop. I am honored to be included in a show called “HOME” which includes two other artists and myself, sharing our perspectives on life in view of the Mississippi.

I have lived in Mississippi for the last thirteen years. I moved here for college from Colorado and immediately fell in love with the lush green environment. I visited the delta often during those college years and the beauty of that place is something that can not be explained, only experienced, so I captured some of it in paint. The variety of trees is incredible and this show includes two of my favorites, the bald cypress and live oak. A specific group of paintings called “Mississippi Meadows” is directly inspired from the “limited” season of having little ones in the home. As I walked my street over and over again with a fussy baby in tow or drove the kids too and from school each day, the ordinary views jumped out at me and became extraordinary. I wanted to share paintings that made the tiny flowers in the grass impactful and the scenery big and bold. I hope these paintings help you see beauty in the ordinary places, and celebrate your home.

The show will be up through the end of June 2023. 1121 North Jefferson Street Jackson, Mississippi 39202
